From the 6th to the 9th of December 2007, a medical team of eye specialists from Italy visited Mother’s Village in Medjugorje. Eye specialists Dr. Tanzarella and Dr. S. Verga, optician Mrs. C. Verga, and nurses Maria G. and L. Fornaro, performed free medical checks on the eyes of 250 children from Mother’s Village in Bijakovici, the John Paul II Family Centre in Vionica, and the Elementary School in Medjugorje.

The traditional Christmas Concert given by the “Little Doves of Peace” from Medjugorje under the direction of Sister Slavica Kozul, together with the “Little Dubrovnik Singers” from Dubrovnik under the direction of Djelo Jusic, took place at 3.00pm on Sunday the 16th of December 2007, in the parish church in Medjugorje.

Living Manger: On Christmas Eve between the Evening Mass and the Christmas Vigil Mass, on the Feast of the Holy Innocents, and on New Year’s Eve, the Cenacolo Community presents “The Living Manger” musical drama in front of the outside Altar.
New Year’s Eve: The Vigil begins on 31/12/’07 at 10.00pm with Adoration, followed by Holy Mass.

The 10th anniversary of broadcasting of Radio MIR Medjugorje was celebrated on Saturday, December 8th, with Holy Mass in Saint James’ parish church in Medjugorje. The Eucharistic celebration was presided by Dr. Fr. Ivan Sesar, Provincial of the Herzegovinian Franciscan Province of the Assumption of Mary and former Director of the Information Centre and Radio MIR Medjugorje, in concelebration with Dr. Fr. Miljenko Steko, current Director of the Information Centre and Radio MIR Medjugorje, Fr. Mario Knezovic, former Manager of the Information Centre and Chief Editor of Radio MIR Medjugorje, the Franciscans serving in Medjugorje and priests on pilgrimage in this place.
Holy Mass was attended by the employees, collaborators and supporters of Radio MIR Medjugorje. Musical group “Mystery” from Zagreb embellished this celebration with lovely music.

Professional and amateur photographers from Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia and Montenegro met in Medjugorje on Sunday the 18th of November 2007, for the first encounter of photographers entitled “Medjugorje Rocks”. Organized by Mate Vasilj, webmaster of the home page www.medjugorje.net, and in collaboration with the Parish Office (Fr. Petar Vlašić and Fr. Tomislav Pervan), Medjugorje opened the door to 55 photographers from Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia and Montenegro.

The Eighth International Seminar for Married Couples took place in Medjugorje from the 31st of October to the 3rd of November 2007. Numbering 260 (130 married couples), the participants came from Italy, Slovakia, Latvia, Ukraine, France, Netherlands, Slovenia and Croatia.
The lecturer was Dr. Jozefina Škarica, a medical doctor and mother of four children. She is leader of the Counseling Centre for Youth, Marriage and Family in Šibenik (Croatia). The Seminar was simultaneously translated into several languages. Like all preceding seminars, it generated great enthusiasm among the participants.

In September 2007, Jorge de Jesús Loria Padilla, founder and leader of the Peace Center in Toluca in Mexico, visited Medjugorje. He not only organizes pilgrimages to Medjugorje but he is also currently translating Fr. Slavko Barbaric’s books into Spanish for Mexico.

On the 31st of October last, members of the First Aid Team of the Order of Malta from Germany, together with local medical staff and volunteers brought service in Medjugorje for the current year to a conclusion. Fr. Tomislav Pervan presided over the concluding Holy Mass and Blessing.
